I
always have the best of intentions to organize my family’s lives. To keep a baby book and actually mark down when the kids have doctors appointments and what the highlights of those milestone appointments were. Like I said….I always have the best of intentions, I didn’t say I remember to follow through. For some reason finding the actual baby book, turning to the page for “found a new tooth” and then finding a pen that works and writing it down. Well by the time I get to the writing it down part I have either forgotten what I was going to write or more than likely I start writing a food shopping list or needed to change a dirty diaper and, you guessed it, nothing gets written down!! I have two beautiful baby books, somewhere, blank….Mom Fail!
If you are anything like me then you have little business cards with doctors appointments written on them in the pockets of jeans, winter coats (bad if your appointment isn’t till summer!) and diaper bags. I put prescriptions for the kids on the passenger seat of my car thinking I will drop them off in the morning and then they end up under the seat till the next time I wash my car and I end up calling the nurse and telling her I flaked out and lost the script! At appointments I always say “Derek is allergic to…umm..hmmm…oh I can’t remember what it’s called, can you look it up”
I used to know birthdays. I knew phone numbers and I had addresses organized. Now I email all my friends and family before every holiday to get their addresses, AGAIN, because I can’t find any of them from the previous year! Every time I do it I feel like I am re-admitting to my unorganized ways. It almost makes me feel like people then know my house has clutter too because organized people have neat houses and well…I’m not organized!!
