February is in full swing and buried inside the month dedicated to love is also a bit of panic. It’s the month that I need to be sure our forms for after-school care next year get in and accepted for my son. It’s also the time I need to sign my daughter up for Kindergarten and be sure she is accepted into extended day care since our town only has half day Kindergarten. Both of which are reminders that summer is coming (even though it’s freezing outside) and it’s time to get signed up for summer camp.
Neurotic when it comes to having the kids activities and care all set way in advance, if you’re anything like me then right now you are probably on the hunt for a summer camp.. Last year we had our first experience with summer camp since my son was too old to continue on at our daycare. We felt he needed more activities, the ability to swim, take swim lesson, plays sports and be with older children instead of toddler. This year both kids will be heading to camp and for our family it was a no-brainer choice in picking Life Time Athletic for Summer Camp.
For those that read my blog regularly or follow my facebook page you are well aware of my family’s love for Life Time Athletic. The facilities are immaculate, the pools are stunning, the kids academy is filled with more fun than our kids can have in day. Activities like Zumba, Sports Skills, Art, Music, Cheer and so many more. Every staff member we have interacted with at Life Time has been so nice. The Kids Academy staff are great with both our kids that have very different personalities.
I wanted to post and share about the camp at Life Time because I know how stressful it can be to a) find a good place that you trust b) find a place that your kids will have a good time and c) find a place where the staff is checked, trained and enjoys their time with your children.
FROM LIFE TIME:
- First week of Summer Camp is June 20th.
- Final week of Summer Camp is August 29th.
- Camp operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Weekly themes through out Summer Camp – campers can dress according to the theme. Examples include Aqua Adventure, Luau Launch, and Messy Madness. Lesson plans, activities and field trips will support the weekly themes.
- Sack lunch with beverage is encouraged. Boxed lunch options will be available via Life Café. Snacks with juice and water will be provided through out the day.
- Children will spend time outside so we encourage campers to bring sunscreen with them.
- We will swim on a daily basis so campers are required to bring a bathing suit and towel with them to camp.
- Our camps will be broken down into age groups. How detailed those age groups become will depend on the number of campers each week.
- Our ratios for camps is 1:10 when on site (ages 6 and up). And 1:7 when off site.
- Our ratios for our littlest campers (ages 4 and 5) is 1:6 both on and off site.
- All counselors must complete a thorough back ground check. Training is done over multiple days, lead by the Regional Kids Manager.
