Derek protecting his pirate ship
|
When we bought our house 6 years ago we didn’t think we would live here this long, at all! We bought in our town because if we didn’t move in 3-5 years then we would be in an excellent school district. We didn’t have children yet so planning to be here just a short time then off to bigger and better was our goal. This was all before we realized our children would change everything and bigger and better wouldn’t be as important as time with our children.
Derek’s train |
Aside from a good school district we loved our backyard. Although, 6 years later, it is still a constant work in progress, it’s where we spend so much of our time. Finnegan can run the perfect figure eight laps in our yard while the kids cheer him on. Many many bubbles set sail in our yard. The kids soar on the swing set or protect their pirate ship up on the deck. Bouncing in the bounce house is way more fun now that Hayley can bounce too and we have the ultimate train that my dad built for Derek. Derek loves his train so much that my dad made him a caboose and Derek even added his own details like having my dad build a door so none of his passengers could come up front while he was driving.
Of course he then needed a caboose
