Many of us live in a world filled with iPhones, iPads, lattes, nice cars and fancy clothes. However in this same world our neighbors are wondering when they will find a job and how they will pay their mortgage.
What if tomorrow the cushy job that you or your spouse holds suddenly came to an end? What would you do if you couldn’t find a new one in this tough economy? Imagine if you couldn’t provide for your child?
Imagine not knowing where your next meal will come from or even worse…where your child’s next meal will come from!
I don’t think anyone wishes to be poor. I don’t think some little girls dream to be doctors while others wish to live in poverty. Circumstances happen, life happens and many people need help.
Did you know that 1 in 5 kids in America doesn’t get enough to eat? Children, not getting enough to eat, right here in the United States! That just doesn’t seem right.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) was created to help families during times of need. Members of Congress are working on the Farm Bill right now and there are DRASTIC CUTS proposed for the SNAP program. Nearly 50% off all SNAP recipients are children. If Congress cuts this funding then children and families will be left to go hungry.
The are 46 million Americans who rely on SNAP–half of these Americans are children.
Are you OK with this??? If you aren’t then please help!!
