Last week we headed to Avalon, NJ to the Golden Inn Resort for the Blogger Beach Bash hosted by Joey from Real Mom Media and Steph from A Grande Life. I missed the event last year and after the rave reviews I read there was no way I was missing it this year!!
The Blogger Beach Bash included Sandman Matt who taught the children how to build sandcastles. Sandman Matt and his wife are from Staten Island so I was extra excited to chat about my hometown with them after the event! I loved knowing that Sandman Matt had been spending some time prior to our visit carving kid-friendly sculptures along the Jersey Shore with the Stronger than the Storm Campaign!
This was my first visit to Avalon. It is gorgeous and I love that no matter where you are, even on the bay side, you can walk to the beach! Luckily our hotel was right on the beach plus it had a pool and beach chairs. All of which help a lot when you are traveling with two kids under 5.
Sandman Matt was great and all the kids seemed to really enjoy learning how to make sandcastles with him. My kids were way too excited by the water and digging that they didn’t participate much, but they are young.
The Blogger Beach Bash was such a fun way to get down the shore with my family AND to hang out with some of my favorite bloggers around! A nice day hanging out and digging in the sand with friends and their kids!
After our fun day on the beach we headed to Stone Harbor, less then a mile drive, and walked around town. It’s such a quaint town with great shops. Not the cheapy trinket stores you find on many boardwalks. My husband Rob spent a few summers living in Stone Harbor so for him it was a mini trip down memory lane. We had pizza at Seven Mile Pies, it was DELISH! I had plain the first night and chicken parm pizza the next day for lunch. It’s like real NY pizza!!! And…the kids got tattoos!
I already decided that next year I am building my own sandcastle with Sandman Matt even my kids won’t pay attention. I can’t wait to go back to Avalon, the Golden Inn and spend time with friends and family!!
Looks like a great time
So… I totally thought Lindsay was your sister! Great seeing you!
It’s so funny people think Lindsay is my sister and that our girls are sisters. I wonder if her son will look like mine!
Looks like a great time! Too bad I couldn’t make it. They really do look like twins, lol!
We had a great time too! Love the Golden Inn!
It was wonderful seeing you there, Sarah! It was only my third time to the Jersey Shore, can’t wait to go back again.
Love your pictures! I wish we could have been there…next year for sure! We haven’t been to Avalon yet either but can’t wait to go!
I’m totally bummed I didn’t get a chance to say hello. I chatted briefly with Lindsay who looked beautiful with the baby.
