My kids love to read books. I think it comes down from their Grandmothers who can read 2-3 books a week if they wanted. My mother ALWAYS had a book in her hand when I was growing up. I remember going to the library as a child and spending hours browsing all the books with her. We would pick out mine first and then I would go sit at a table with the books as my mom would find whatever she was looking for and more. These days I don’t get to the library as much as I would like to with my kids but we do spend many Friday nights at Barnes and Noble looking for new books!!
We have so many Christmas, Easter and Halloween books but what we don’t have are many books highlighting the lesser-known holidays, like Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Mother’s Day, and all the other non-major , gift-giving/candy receiving holidays.
To remedy that, my friend LIndsay at The Naughty Mommy has compiled a list of the best children’s books for the lesser-known holidays to help my kids learn about them.
Let me know if you add any of them to your collection of books!
