For $5 CleanBirth.org provides a mother with all the hygienic birthing supplies she needs to make birth safe. They also train nurses and Village Volunteers to teach mothers about safe birthing practices.
I love what this organization is doing because every mother should be able to safely welcome their baby into the world!
When I read about Yai, the mother who lost her baby to infection, my heart just breaks. Imagine if she had a clean $5 birthing kit. $5!! Imagine how one less latte at Starbucks could help bring a baby safely into the world?! Are you willing to help out??
Please contribute if you can to this great cause www.startsomegood.com/

Thank you Sarah for this great post and for supporting CleanBirth.org as we work to empower women in Laos to have safe births!
Great post. I was one of those who was not allowed to do natural, far too risky. I can’t imagine what happens in those cases in other countries!
We can be so closed minded about these things with how “easy” it is to have a baby in this country. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing : ). It is so scary to think about what happens in third world countries.
Thank you for sharing this information on how easy it is for her us to help other women have save births.
