Cancer accounts for nearly 50% of all disease-related pet deaths each year.
Dogs get cancer at roughly the same rate as humans.
Approximately 1 in 4 dogs develops a tumor of some kind during his lifetime.
At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Nicola Mason is literally prolonging the lives of dogs with her studies. I am lucky enough to know Dr. Mason personally and have been obsessively following her clinical trials. She is an amazing scientist, veterinarian and person! I am so excited to see what the future holds for her findings and how many more dogs she can help save!
Dr. Mason was featured on CBS tonight and I am so proud of her I needed to share it here!!!
Lost two to cancer, and a few from old age … all missed.
Aww I am so sorry Nicole! I can’t imagine the day…….
What a great veterinarian! : ) Thanks for sharing.
My 1st dog passed away from cancer. I had no idea dogs got it as frequently as they do. Very sad. But what a wonderful vet! Dogs are so special.
