Fun with Hasbro

Yesterday Derek started Kindergarten!!  I am so emotional about it all while being extremely proud of the little boy he is becoming.  It’s been so amazing to watch all the aspects of his life changing.  Even the way he plays has been changing.  Lately he wants to be challenged through play.  Building bigger, learning about how things work and why.  I love to be a part of his growing and learning.

Both Derek and Hayley pride themselves on their ability to really test a toy!  I say this jokingly but it’s actually kind of true!

First Derek got to play with KRE-O Transformers.  I wasn’t sure he would be able to put it together himself.  It’s 196 pieces and Derek just turned 6.  He took the pieces and the box and got to work.  It was amazing to watch.  Derek quietly sat for about 30 minutes just focused, looking at the images and building.  He built all 196 pieces and was SO PROUD of himself when he was done (so was I!)

I HIGHLY recommend Kre-O Transformers!  Derek not only enjoyed putting these together but he truly followed directions well and focused while building this.  This is a great learning through play toy for any 6 year old boy!!

Next up was a toy for the whole family!!!!!   Monopoly Junior

This was my personal favorite because it got all 4 of us to sit down together and play a game!  Derek is 6 and was very excited to play.  He was focused, helped give out the money, the pieces and listened intently to the rules.  Hayley, my almost 4 year old was not quite as easy during the game.  She was thrilled to be on her brother’s team and play with the family but she went off a few times (to get her Equestria Doll) and then cried when she and Derek were sent to jail.  I think under 4 is a bit  young but 6 is a perfect age for Monopoly Junior.  Oh and next time we will play on the table because Finnegan kept SITTING on the game board!!!

Hayley got to check out MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS Dolls with Accessories.  Both Hayley and Derek loved the My Little Pony Flip and Whirl Rainbow Dash.  Hayley is a huge My Little Pony fan so when her Equestria Girl arrived she asked me to open her immediately!  

Hayley loves to brush her My Little Pony dolls hair, she always asks me to put braids in them too!  The best part about Hayley’s new Singing Twilight Sparkle is that she’s a rockstar!  Hayley has been taking singing lessons for the past 2 months and says she wants to be a Rockstar and an Animal Doctor when she grows up.  She has been setting up Twilight Sparkle to sing at her microphone stand and then Hayley gets on her own microphone and they both sing the My Little Pony theme song!!
