Notice the shattered screen on the iPhone and the size difference
Well here I am about 2 months in to checking out the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and I thought it was about time I started sharing some of my opinions with you on the phone so far. Keep in mind I am an avid Apple user. EVERYTHING I do is on an Apple, yet I have been very intrigued by the camera and size of the Samsung Galaxy Note. My husband and kids lovingly refer to it as “Big Phone” Yes, they talk about my phone, ask where Big Phone is and tell me often how big my Big Phone is!
I decided to try out the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 because
A) My iPhone5 has a fully shattered screen
B) The battery life on my iPhone5 is pathetic and I charge it about 2 times A DAY
C) I LOVE technology and although I am very deep into the whole Apple world I am still intrigued by what the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is all about
I think it’s best if I write a list
The Pros and Cons of the Samsung Galaxy from the Perspective of an iPhone User

Sample video made from my SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE3 it’s AMAZING!!!
CONS
Not an iPhone
A tad too big, not easy for using with only one hand
Although the battery life is better than an iPhone it’s still not awesome
I am two months in and it’s STILL not easy for me to use. I thought the switch would have been quicker
I don’t know how to do a lot of things that I know the phone can do and I don’t know if I want to invest that much time into a phone
No notification when a text message is delivered or read
Have you made the switch?????? What do you think??
I am STILL on the fence!
Disclosure: I have been provided with a phone in order to facilitate this review but all the opinions are my own
I almost switched on my last upgrade because of the screen size and camera but I couldn’t bring myself to do it…. I’m also in the “everything I own is Apple” camp. How is the photo syncing to iPhoto? Is it a total pain or manageable?
This is my first real phone — the Samsung Galaxy. My husband has an iPhone and would rather have what I have. I can’t really compare and contrast between the two, but you’ve brought up some great points, especially the notification for text messages. Sometimes, I get a audible notification and other times I have to physically pick up my phone to see — it’s not consistent.
I have always been an iPhone user since the first model appeared. However I switched to an Android (LG 3) when I lived in Rome for 3 months earlier this year. I could never get used to the new operating system and I found the phone poorly designed and too big. I gave it a fair test and I happily reverted to my iPhone when I returned to the States. Two of my three sons use an Android, while one uses an iPhone as does my wife and me. Maybe it’s an age thing, but I love my iPhone and it will take a great change in the Android operating system and phones for me to try it again
Andy, it’s NOT your age because I feel the same way. I am giving this a full on try but I just can’t get it. Something about it isn’t intuitive to me like an iPhone is!!!
