The summertime always has me on the lookout for fun adventures with the kids. I love to find outdoor places where they can explore, have fun, enjoy the weather and meet other kids their ages. The Philadelphia area has so many great kid-friendly places to venture off to for a day trips, morning trips or even just for a few hours of the day.
Are you looking for fun and educational activities for your kids this summer? WHYY invites families in the greater Philadelphia area to help build their community at Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood “Be My Neighbor Day” Events this summer. The first event at Smith Memorial Playground Playhouse was a success and many children took part in crafts and meeting others from the community.
These events are free and are inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the first new show from The Fred Rogers Company since Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. The events are designed to foster a strong sense of community in a neighborhood
Attendees will get to meet and take a picture with Daniel Tiger as well as participate in crafts or other fun activities. There will also be delicious samples from Happy Family Organic Foods and Curbside Creamery.
Don’t worry if you missed the event at Smith Memorial Playground, WHYY has two additional events in the greater Philadelphia area this summer.
