All the sudden it is the middle of August and my kids are starting school in two weeks. Is it just me or do the summers away seem like they fly by too quickly? Even Derek, my 7 year old, just said yesterday “How is the summer almost over already?” I told him, “I don’t know” but what I was really thinking was, “get used to it kiddo!!”
Well, if we are going to have to go back to school, then we are going to do it in style! All week I will be bringing you our favorite picks for Back to School featuring everything that Derek and Hayley like best. If you ask Derek what he wants to wear it’s all about sweats and sneakers. Hayley is all over the map with wanting sweatsuits, sneakers, sparkly shoes, tutus, dresses and more.
Today’s post throws it back for me and Rob too. Seeing our little kids sporting beloved brands from our youth is always special. When Kids Foot Locker sent over Air Jordan outfits for both kids, Derek a pair of Jordan sneakers and Hayley a pair of Nike Air Max sneakers my youth cheered and Rob’s got jealous!! The kids were super excited, it’s amazing how at 4 and 7 they have such brand recognition, I am in trouble as they get older!!
He loved the shorts, said they were soft like his pjs. Considering Derek would love to stay in his pjs all day, I think it’s a huge compliment!! He loves clothes that he can run, jump and play ball in. I love that he can do all those things and still look neat, clean and stylish in well made clothes.
Right away Hayley wanted to get into her outfit. She pointed out the Jordan logo and told me now she’s wearing Daddy’s clothes. Both kids even ask if 23 was Jordan’s number! I love when they figure things like that out on their own.
And now for their Back to School Sneakers from Kids Foot Locker! Let me tell you that both kids were more excited over their new sneakers then they are about most toys they get! I wanted them to save them till the first day of school but that wasn’t happening!! Both kids asked to try them on right away and wanted to wear them to camp for all their friends to see. I was a little nervous about what Derek would think of his since they have purple on them but he was unfazed by the purple and loves his Jordans which he refuses to sneakers, “Mommy, where are my Jordans”
Derek is wearing Jordan 7 Retro “Bordeaux” ($135)
Hayley has on Nike Air Max 90 ($67.99)
Hayley loves that you can see the air in her sneakers on the soul, she came up with that on her own too!
