Coloring Isn’t Just For Kids

I have a new obsession!  I mean I am seriously obsessed with Adult Coloring Books.  Taking my book, coffee and pencils into yard on an early weekend morning.  Hiding from everyone in my house for a little bit of alone time to sit, decompress on the happenings of the week and start my weekend off with some relaxation.  I love picking what color to use where and seeing the tones blend to make beautiful, colorful, pictures.

Recently AC. Moore sent me a bunch of awesome coloring books.  In the books the pages are one-sided and perforated so if you choose to take them out to color (like I do) then its super easy to get them out without ripping. There are so many great patterns and images to choose from in the coloring books.  You could get mandalas, enchanted forests, cats, butterflies, owls, flowers and so much more!

I have found my stress levels are going down now that I have been coloring daily.  I like to keep my pencils neat in their own case and try hard not mix them up with the kids colored pencils which they keep in this awesome wooden holder my husband and I made

I find myself getting a bit selfish when my kids ask “Could I have a page from your book Mommy?”  They even want to use my beautifully sharpened, perfectly organized pencils.  However….I know I can’t say “No, go watch tv” like I might secretly want to scream especially when they ask if they can color on my page that I have been working on.  Please note…I would never do that and I do share!  See below for Derek and Hayley’s cats in progress
