We just finished up Halloween on Saturday and sure enough on Sunday morning at 7:30am (apparently my kids didn’t know about daylight savings) Hayley woke me up and said, “Mommy, Halloween is over!! You promised we could set up the Santa house now” There I was, exhausted, with two options. I could say I was still sleeping and spend the next hour with her asking me “Is it time yet?” OR I could go downstairs, make coffee and set up the Santa house. I choose B since Hayley was relentlessly saying “Please Momma” and then, just like that…The Holiday Season sprung up in my house.
By the time that afternoon came around you would have thought Santa himself were taking notes in my living room because both Hayley and Derek were rattling off everything they want for Christmas. Finally Derek had the bright idea to ask me for markers and said “Can we have the books that Toys-R-Us sent us?” I was holding off, just a bit, I just wanted the last few moments of fall and pumpkin spice before I was thrown into Christmas cookie and being holly jolly. However, my children, they live for this stuff and so, in turn, so do I. I got the markers, gave them the books and finally…..silence.
By the end….no page was left unturned
No toy was left uncircled
Even Finnegan got in on it!! He had some trouble turning the pages!
I wasn’t really surprised with many of the choices. Hayley wants Barbies, the Doc McStuffins Pet Vet Check Up Center and My Little Pony Sweet Apple Acres Barn. Derek wants LEGO Dimensions and anything Transformers.
