Disclosure: I’m sharing how it’s ok to laugh (and weight lift) as as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars and Poise #LadiesWithPoise
After the rush of the holidays I have been feeling very overwhelmed, tired and running on empty. I want to recommit myself to goals of moving towards a healthier and calmer lifestyle. I have been going to the gym now for a little over 2 months and although I feel good when I leave, I haven’t seen a ton of results. I think I might have been heading towards some results but then all the Christmas cookies got in the way. I mean seriously, they are irresistible!!
Here I am, in January of 2016 and wishing I didn’t eat all those cookies. In an effort to make some serious changes towards a new me and work off the mistakes of my holiday binging; I met with a trainer at the gym. I really want to learn more about strength and resistance training. I want to go to the gym and maximize my work-out for the time I am there. I also want to make sure I am bringing the right necessities with me when I head to the gym.
Since my last try at gym life everything has changed. Nobody is sporting the Sony Sports yellow discman or an oversized college tee. Now it’s all Bluetooth enabled earbuds and wild vibrant patterned pants with a tank that doesn’t match yet I just as wild and vibrant. I feel…well I feel 40 and very obviously not 25 anymore. So in my attempt to try and feel a bit more “with it” I am outfitting myself with some new gear to feel more comfortable.
I have found when my gym bag is packed with everything I need or want, then I tend to work out longer, harder and with more purpose. I think having my “things” makes me more confident. When we are secure in our own skin we tend to exceed our own goals much faster. Some suggestions I would make would be to have an extra pair of socks, a back-up shirt. I get picky about the fit of my shirt and pants so if I have an extra outfit to change into it makes me feel better. We all need sneakers, obviously and I like to have a USB iPhone charger and extra headphones.
When it comes to personal products I like to have my face wash since my skin is so sensitive. I like my shampoo and conditioner for my dry hair and the Wet Brush is a must for my long hair. My gym provides towels but you might want to bring your own and a shower cap if you don’t want to wash your hair. When it comes to feminine products Poise* Impressa* Bladder Supports are comfortable and can help discreetly prevent leaks for up to 8 hours every day. For women, this could really make a difference in your workout. No need to stop early or worry about leakage because Poise Impressa Bladder Supports are the the first over-the-counter internal product designed to help stop leaks before they happen!! Poise Impressa Bladder Supports are available in three sizes that adapt to the unique internal shape of each woman’s body. Basically, there is one for everyone.
So, what’s in your gym bag??
