Somehow Easter is coming up and I am still feeling like it was just Christmas. Although with Easter typically comes sunnier days and more outdoor adventures. All welcome things but like I said, I am still feeling like it was just Christmas. Moving on from my issues with time flying by I have been scoping out what kind of Easter Baskets I want to give my kids this year. In the past few years we have done baskets with Gardening Supplies and another with bubbles and chalk. This year I wanted make our baskets a bit more traditional in the sense of making sure they contain bunnies and also have them really fit to the personalities and likes of my kids at the moment.
For Hayley she is very into babies, cooking in her play kitchen, building LEGOS (by herself!!), My Little Pony, playing soccer and swim team. I want to make her a basket that when she opens it she thinks that the Easter Bunny really sent it just for her.
First, I like to start the basket off with a bunny and this Blossom Bunny Rabbit from Melissa and Doug is just so sweet, soft and looks easy to love.
I love FurReal Friends, they are sweet, show kids some love in return and how cute is it when they sing. Hayley loves dogs so these FurReal Friends Luvimals Sweet Singing Biscuit is perfect for my future veterinarian!
We love Play-Doh in our house. Both kids can sit and roll Play-Doh at the Dining Room table and it’s something I can jump in on too. Add some glitter and the Play-Doh Compound Collection is perfect for an Easter Basket!
Hayley is a huge My Little Pony fan and the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls Minis Rarity Slumber Party Beauty Set is sure to excite her on Easter Morning. She has been asking for the new Equestria Girls for weeks!!
Nothing beats Melissa and Doug when it comes to play food. We really have almost every single set they make, except the eggs!!! HOW EXCITING!!!! Pretend breakfast and food just got so much more exciting because we have bacon but never had eggs. Plus eggs, chicks and easter all go together so be sure to add the Slice & Sort Wooden Eggs to your basket
These Mess-Free (favorite words for a mom) Glitter Foam Stickers from Melissa and Doug are super cute. Hayley loves stickers, glitter and anything you can put on paper to add to her artwork. I love it because she can have her glitter but it won’t take years for me to vacuum up!
LEGOs are always a hit in our house. We use them as “incentive prizes” for the kids, they beg for them on every single Target run and this LEGO Friends Exploration Car is perfect for Hayley. I love how LEGO Friends show girls doing anything they might want!! Hayley is even putting together her own sets now and no more “MOMMY DO IT!!”
Long gone are the days of sippy cups but when we are on the go we are always looking for spill proof!! My kids are obsessed with these Thermos Funtainer Water Bottles and then add in some Frozen and Hayley is hooked!
Proper Bunny, from Melissa and Doug, with his adorable plaid bow tie is perfect for Derek’s Easter Basket. Starting off a basket with a classic bunny reminds me of my baskets as a child!!
Derek is full on obsessed with LEGO Buildable Figures. It started with a few characters and now as each new one comes out he collects them. Captain Phasma is a great addition to his collection but really any of the buildable figures would be a great addition to any Easter Basket.
Even at 7 years old we need spill proof!! Derek has all the Termos Funtainers in the Star Wars theme and now we are adding Batman. You can never have enough water bottles since they get left in cars, at school and when you need one it seems they are never in the cabinet!
NERF is a favorite in our house. Since we joined Life Time Athletic Derek and Hayley are obsessed with shooting hoops so this NERF Dude Perfect Hoop is perfect for our playroom.
No matter the age Play-Doh is always fun!! Adding this adorable Play Doh Spring Chick to Derek’s basket is perfect! I think he will love to see it’s hair grow.
We love games in our house!! Derek loves Jenga and it’s one of those games he can actually sit, play and focus on!! It’s all about focusing over here.
What’s are you putting in your child’s Easter Basket??
