If your family is anything like mine then date nights are few and far between. With two kids, a dog and two full time jobs my husband and I are always running and lately it seems we are running in different directions. The amount of time we get alone is minimal and although we could probably get a babysitter more often, we like to be home with the kids. However, I know the importance of making time to be alone, connect, check in and such.
In the summer months it’s usually much easier to have a mock date-night at home after the kids go to bed. We love to hang out in the yard, on the deck and just chat about the day. In an effort to even step up the effort there why not make it a movie night. Get the kids to bed and then head out into the yard. All you need is a portable screen, projector and Netflix! Put some popcorn in a bowl, crack open your favorite beverage and cuddle up for an outdoor movie date.
