Exhaustion is setting in and it’s only 8:46 AM! Another day I woke up from a late night binge and need to take care of my family and be a functioning member of society!! I just can’t help myself, I am fully addicted to Bloodline and Season 2 is so good I cannot stop watching it. The biggest issue with it is that I can’t watch it on the living room television when the kids are awake so I have been waiting for them to go to bed so I can watch it.
This is my one problem, I love Netflix!! I love it so much but I cannot have my 5 and 8 year old watching shows like Orange is the New Black, Bloodline and even Grace and Frankie. My husband loves shows like Narcos, Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad so all of those are OUT!!! It’s impossible to parent responsibly and get to watch any shows that I like. I did watch all of Fuller House 500 million trillion kabilillion times, it’s a good show and all, but I want to see the Rayburns!!!
My latest technique is to hide. I tried sitting in the living room to watch Bloodline on my laptop but that didn’t work out too well.
My son tried watching and asked what I was watching!! This happened one Sunday morning too when he yelled “Why is Mommy watching all the ladies in jail?” My husband gave me the side eye look as if to say “Seriously Sarah, can’t you watch that on your time?” hmmmm I’m I mom, I don’t have ME TIME so I sneaking television shows ok!!!!
I also sometimes tell everyone I am putting away laundry. I head upstairs with the 500 baskets of clean laundry and NOBODY comes up. They know if they do that I will ask them to help so that usually buys me an episode or two, depending on how long it’s been since I put away laundry.
Additional hiding spots to watch Netflix include but not limited to:
Bathroom (yes I walk in there with a laptop)
Laundry Room
Kitchen (while making dinner)
Office (headphones!!!)
Backyard (Finnegan is a good Netflix pal)
Living Room around 3am
Locker Room at the gym
Neighborhood Walk (uses data)
Long Car Rides (uses data)
Waiting in line for Amusement Park Rides (uses data)
Airports (who ever goes anywhere I have two kids)
