The stocking are hung, the lists are written and the Elf has arrived. Now all the is left to do is shop, wrap and celebrate!! It’s the Holiday Season and my kids are already asking and asking and asking for more and more and more. I can’t keep up with their wants but I do know what they need, what they like and what they will truly use after the excitement is over. Toys that stand the test of time, that will be played with during the snow days of February and sports equipment that isn’t just a gimmick but truly will endure hours of backyard playtime. Those are the kinds of gifts I am looking for this year. Quality over quantity, enjoyment over the spur of the moment want. It’s hard to say “no, you don’t need a robot” but honestly I know they would only play with it for a day as opposed to something like a Nerf Indoor Basketball Net that I know will get played on all year round.
I want the kids to open up gifts that inspire them to sit at the table and create something like the Crayola Emoji Maker. Something that they will enjoy together, possibly not fighting, while sitting and playing. How about the good old days of getting boardgames like Scrabble and Yahtzee. I have been thinking about this for a while and that’s why today I decided to write my Fresh Picks as a Gift Guide for Kids and include the kinds of gifts I know my kids would enjoy all year round!
