Recently we took the kids on a mini vacation to The Logan in Philadelphia. Sometimes the closest places to us are the last ones we visit or we wait till out of town friends are visiting to explore the depths of our own city. I live 15 minutes from Philadelphia yet have rarely brought my children into the actual city to walk around. When I knew I had a weekend after fall sports ended and before the rush of the holiday season started, visiting Philadelphia as a tourist was the first thing that popped into my mind!
We decided to make our visit a real adventure and actually stay overnight!! How cool would it be for the kids to see the city buildings lit up at night and to wake up in the morning and have breakfast in the hotel then be able to wander around the city and take in some of the excitement of being in Philadelphia! The Logan Hotel in Philadelphia was the exact hotel I knew I wanted to bring the kids to.
We headed to our room and the kids were AMAZED!! They were ooooo’ing and aaaaaa’ing for so long. “Mommy, look at the Rocky Steps” “Mommy is that where you work?” “What is that building” and on and on. Our room had multiple huge windows with views of the city so the kids would run from one window to the other pointing landmarks and people and of the excitement!!
I was expecting the room to be on the smaller side since it’s in the middle of a city but I was completely shocked when I saw how much space there was. Derek even made his own little video

The room was immaculate, bright, modern yet comfy. The kids didn’t feel like it was stuffy and boring. They felt right at home. Hayley loved the big doors opening into the mater bedroom.
When we ventured out into Philadelphia we went to see Annie at The Walnut Street Theatre, the kids first time seeing a big show in the theatre. They even were lucky enough to meet Jenna, the sweet 10 year old that plays Annie in the show!!
After Annie, the kids were tired so we took a taxi back to The Logan. Oh to be 7 and 9 and feel the excitement of hailing a cab again!! When we got to our room we were greeted with the sweetest gift of cookies, milk and a little Build Your Own Cannoli bar!
PJs on the the kids went right back to their posts to people watch.
As soon as they woke up in the morning, you guessed it, right back to people watch!!!
We finally took them to the spot they watched all night and morning!!!
We had the most amazing, fabulous, fresh and delicious breakfast we ever had at Urban Farmer. My husband cures his own bacon a lot, was dying over the bacon at Urban Farmer calling it, “the best bacon in the world” You much head in for brunch!!! I want to try for dinner too!!
The decor is also fabulous!!! So many different blends of colors and textures. We really didn’t want to leave!!
All in all it was a fantastic, fancy, fabulous, family friendly getaway to one of the best cities in the world!!! We loved our stay at The Logan and can’t wait to get back!!
