One annual tradition in our family that all of us look forward to is our visit to Hershey Park for their Christmas Candylane. The park is filled with millions of Christmas lights, everywhere you go you are sure to run into some holiday decor. The characters are dressed to the nines in their warm weather scarves and earmuffs and the smell of chocolate floats through the air. The joy of being bundled up in Hershey Park at night brings with it much anticipation for Christmas. Since we visit Hershey Park during the holidays every year we have our favorites and must do spots that the kids beg to go see from the moment we pass through the gates
1- The Reindeer: Did you know Hershey Park hosts Santa’s reindeer during the weeks before Christmas? Yes, even Rudolph can be found grazes the hay bales and available for photos! No, you can’t pose with Rudolph but you can stare at him for hours (like my kids do), learn all about reindeer and snap his photo from behind the fence.
2- Take Photos With The Characters: My kids are not camera shy, at all! The one thing that Derek was shy about was asking Hershey to dab in a photo with him (he really wanted to) but other than that they love all of the Hershey characters and getting their photos taken with them in their winter gear
3-See a Show at the Music Box Theatre: WOW!!! We saw a show at the Music Box Theatre this winter for the first time. Truth be told we only did it because it was sleeting outside and now it’s my favorite thing to do there. The show was FANTASTIC!!! The dancers, singers and actors are amazing!! I didn’t get any photos because I didn’t want to be a distraction but I promise you will LOVE the show!
4-Stop in Chocolate World to Visit Santa: Here you have it!!! Our first ever photo of both kids with Santa and Hayley’s first ever Santa visit! They spent years scared of Santa but the wonderful, sweet and realistic looking Santa in Chocolate World spent a long time chatting with both kids, paying attention to them and was very kind.
What is your favorite thing to do in Hershey Park??
And for some extra exciting news….Hershey Park has extended it’s winter hours and is open every day from now till New Years with the exception of Christmas Day!
